CellFiber Co., Ltd., a biotech company pioneering next-generation cell culture technology, has announced that it officially named its cell \u200bencapsulation\u200b system brand \u201cZeito\u2122\u201d (pronounced \u201cZeito\u201d) on May 25, 2026, in preparation for the full-scale launch of the product in Japan and the United States.

In conjunction with the brand name decision, the following two products have been renamed. Please note that there are no changes to the specifications or functionality of these products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2025, CellFiber announced the Zeito\u2122 Plus Cell Encapsulation System<\/strong> (formerly the CellFiber Extruder), its GMP-compliant cell\u200b \u200b \u200bencapsulation\u200b\u200b \u200bsystem designed to enable large-scale cell manufacturing for regenerative medicine and advanced cell therapy products. The system was developed with support from the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) under the Venture Innovation and Cultivation Leading Environment (ViCLE) program, and from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) through the Deep Tech Startup Support Fund\/Deep Tech Startup Support Program.

The system is specifically designed for GMP-compliant mass culture of cells in cell manufacturing, enabling large-scale cell\u200b \u200b \u200bencapsulation\u200b\u200b \u200b with stable, standardized, and streamlined processes. The system reduces overall manufacturing time while simultaneously enhancing cell function through optimized culture conditions.

The Zeito\u2122 Lite Cell Encapsulation System<\/strong> (formerly the CellFiber SSP) is a benchtop device intended for cell \u200bencapsulation in early-stage research, as previously offered.

The brand name and product renaming have been decided in anticipation of the upcoming sales launch and promotional activities for both products in Japan and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cZeito\u201d is a coined word combining \u201cZeit,\u201d the German word for \u201ctime,\u201d and \u201cIto,\u201d the Japanese word for \u201cthread\u201d or \u201cfiber.\u201d \u201cZeit\u201d reflects the efficient cell therapy development process enabled by CellFiber\u00ae technology. \u201cIto\u201d draws on the Japanese word for thread, symbolizing the connection to the fiber structure. \u201cZeito\u201d also relates to a Greek-derived expression meaning \u201clongevity\u201d and \u201cliving with vitality,\u201d aligning with CellFiber\u2019s mission to contribute to the advancement of the cell therapy industry and improve patients\u2019 quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
