- Mission
- As a Process Development Scientist, you will provide technical solutions for cell culture and manufacturing processes, supporting scale-up, process robustness, and automation for our customers. By engaging our proprietary cell culture technology, you will work closely with manufacturing teams to solve real-world challenges and help establish our position as a trusted technical partner in the commercialization of next-generation cell manufacturing.
- Key Responsibilities
- <Process Development & Optimization>
• Design, plan, and execute scientific experiments to develop GMP-compatible processes (closed, automated, scalable, and reproducible)
• Transfer process parameters from R&D and identify gaps requiring optimization.
• Design experiments, collect/analyze data, and propose improvements to scale laboratory processes to commercial manufacturing levels.
<Documentation>
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of process development activities and experimental results in compliance with GMP and relevant regulations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports covering procedures, data analysis, and process improvement proposals.
• Support the creation of user manuals, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
<Troubleshooting & Problem Solving>
• Investigate and analyze process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Apply technical knowledge in cell culture and cell-based assays, using data analysis and statistical tools to optimize processes.
<Innovation & Continuous Improvement>
• Collect, interpret, and report experimental data to drive process improvements.
• Stay informed of industry trends in cell therapy manufacturing and propose new technologies including advanced culture systems, automation, and analytical tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and product quality.
<Quality & Compliance>
• Follow experimental procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure high accuracy, precision, and reproducibility in experiments while maintaining an organized laboratory environment.
- Must Have
- • Master’s degree or higher in bioengineering, chemical engineering, life sciences, pharmacy, or related fields; or 3+ years of relevant industry experience in research, development, or manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in cell culture, molecular biology, or bioprocess development.
• Foundational understanding of process development (scale-up, optimization, tech transfer, etc.)
• Skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting (Excel, GraphPad, statistical tools)
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional communication abilities.
• Basic GxP awareness and disciplined documentation habits.
• Effective communication skills in English or Japanese.

- • Experience in startups or fast-moving environments.
• Experience providing scientific/technical services (experiment planning, execution, data reporting, presentations)
• Work experience in GMP settings or pharmaceutical/CDMO environments.
