CellFiber® Technology

CellFiber® is an encapsulation technology that protects cells within a tubular structure made of medical grade alginate, providing a secure, biomimetic environment for high-density cell culture.

Alginate is a safe, biocompatible biopolymer derived from marine sources.
By harnessing its unique ability to instantly form hydrogels, our microfluidic encapsulation technology creates a precise, tube-line microenvironment that supports high-quality cell culture.

Our CellFiber Extruder System continuously directs three fluid streams — a central cell suspension surrounded by alginate and crosslinker solutions. This controlled process enables the rapid formation of alginate gel fibers with cells encapsulated within.

Cells cultured with CellFiber® technology demonstrate enhanced functional maintenance, long-term viability, and greater consistency compared to conventional methods. As a result, CellFiber® is emerging as a next-generation platform for efficient, high-quality cell manufacturing.
